A family owned traditional English Country Pub with real fires, real ale, great home made food, fresh local produce, character and a warm welcome. Sat on the edge of Bentfield Green in the village of Stansted Mountfitchet we are a family owned traditional country pub.
Our kitchen offers seasonal, wholesome cooking using the abundance of excellent local produce available to us. As well as the best pub classics and home made bar snacks.
We pride ourselves on our well kept selection of Ales as supported by CAMRA, cold draft, premium spirits and wine list.
Family friendly, children are welcome, especially in the summer when our beer garden really comes in to it's own.

Chelmsford Race Day Saturday 21st April Minibus will now leave pub at 11.30am and return 8pm, doors open at R&C at 11am for pre race drinks, smart casual dress essential. We can now accommodate another two people please pop in and reserve ticket with matt or stacy £50 includes entrance 2 course meal and transport per person.
Monday Madness Yes we are now opening from 6pm till 10pm every Monday Drinks only at the moment , pop along and see who your guest bar staff are for the evening from a handpicked selection of locals. Special Monday prices on beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks. Hope to see you tonight

A day at Chelmsford Races Saturday 21st April, coach leaves pub midday and return 8pm £50 per person, includes entrance, three course meal and transport, we have 2 places left, pop in and speak to stacy if your interested.
