As always, we are planning months in advance. Our Summer Show is only about two and a half months away and alongside putting together routines and costumes, one of the main things we need to organise is the chaperoning of the students on the day. We are therefore holding a chaperone meeting on THURSDAY 10th MAY at 7PM for anyone that is willing and able to chaperone on the day. (Please put this date in your diary & thumbs up if you are able to attend 👍) All backstage helpers must hold a DBS, but more important than that - we desperately need more parents to be licensed chaperones. If you are able to help, but cannot attend at this time, please let us know this week so we can include you in our plans. Our students aged five and under need much more attention backstage, so we especially need extra parents for these students - Junior Street, Modern Grade 1, Primary Tap, Pre-Primary Ballet and some Primary Ballet. We would ideally like to have one parent to each two children of this age. Becoming a licensed chaperone is pretty easy. It involves parents attending a 2 hour course held by Cambs County Council, plus documentation to be filled in. The Council also apply for a new DBS for the applicant in order to issue a license which lasts for three years. The cost is £20 per person. We need to have one licensed chaperone for each twelve students at our show. Without this number, our shows simply won't be authorised to take place. If anyone is interested in becoming a licensed chaperone, please private message me your name and full address and I can pass these details on to the Licensing team at the Council.
