Low Loss Header under construction: "Strong backs" with Steve Reeves💪

Installation of a new steam condensate receiver unit at a major UK hospital. The unit is designed to receive condensate at very high temperatures and in some cases will receive 'flash steam'. Therefore all live connections have been double valved for safety with an additional spare valved connection for future use. The inlet header, connection pieces and outlet header were fabricated off site from 316 stainless steel. The vent and water seal pipe work was fabricated off site from 80mm carbon steel material. Bespoke 450mm diameter steam Condensate Recovery Unit (CRU) manufactured at our workshop, delivered to site and installed by us. This CRU was specially made to replace an older, no longer available model that had failed after many years of loyal service. The new unit is fitted with a high temperature magnetic float switch used to control the discharge pumps once the vessel is full. The switch is mounted into a detachable plate that can be easily removed for maintenance purposes and uses standard, readily available gaskets.
