My name is Sue Kettleborough, I am 48 years old and live in Skellingthorpe with my husband Paul. We have lived in Skellingthorpe for 15 years and have always enjoyed the village life. We have two children of our own who are now all grown up with families of their own. I currently have two grandchildren which I adore, with a third on the way. Working with children is something I have always intended to do and having grandchildren has encouraged me to turn this enjoyment into a childcare business.

We took the plunge and converted our double garage into a large, spacious playroom offering a fun, caring, and stimulating environment packed with activities to encourage children to learn and play. Attached to this room is a quiet area which provides children with opportunity to sleep/rest in a peaceful environment. Toilet and bathroom facilities are also well equipped as well as a kitchen/diner, all of which is located on the ground floor - no need to use stairs.

Outside, there is an enclosed play area for children to encourage play and adventure, suitable for use in all weathers. Our garden is also home to three lovely chickens, as well as a herb garden which children will be encouraged to get involved with.

Each term will offer age appropriate themed activities that will tie in with an individual child's interests and learning goals.  All activities are inline with the EYFS curriculum/statutory framework and each child will have their very own learning journey to capture those special moments.  Parents will be encouraged to add to their child's learning journey where they feel appropriate.

As well as bringing up my two children, and caring for my two (soon to be three!) grandchildren my experience includes voluntary work at schools for activities, trips and fundraising. My daughter is a fully qualified teacher who has taught at a local primary school and whilst on maternity leave, we will be working together to develop the business.

- Child development
- Managing children's behaviour
