A fab day on our Fun Day today as we saw some of the families we know and love come together. The sun shone and everyone smiled. People were pushed out of their comfort zones and felt the success. The team work was amazing and the children shared and supported each other extremely well. Another fabulous day on the farm.

Autism Angels - South
A fabulous last session in the south yesterday with our group from JCoSS. There has been a tremendous amount of learning over the last 6 weeks with them and students, parents and learning support assistants have shown great dedication and commitment to their growth in the programme
Hi there Autism Angels would you be willing to share the following information from Harrogate National Autistic society.......? Please join us for our family picnic in the park to be held on Sunday, 17th July from 2pm - 4pm at Knaresborough Community Centre, Stockwell Avenue, Knaresborough, HG5 0LG. This is our first picnic in the park and we really hope as many people as possible will join us, as we would like to make this an annual event. This event is for people with autism of all ages and their families and friends - please join us - we would love to meet you. Stay as long or as short a time as you like. There will be an inflatable slide, along with other giant games such as Jenga, Connect 4, Limbo, Space hoppers are many more. There will be a booking system in place on the day for these activities. We will also have use of the playpark situated behind the Community Centre although this will be open to the general public. The picnic will go ahead regardless of the weather as we have access to an indoor area with a quiet space and toilets. Please dress appropriately for the weather and remember your sun cream! Please also remember to bring your picnic blanket, your own food and non-alcoholic drinks. There is no payment required; everything is funded by the branch.

Sometimes we get so focused on the outer self that we spend all of our time criticising ourselves, feeling unworthy and being hard on ourselves. How about today, you take 5 minutes to look deeper than that and truly focus on the inner you. What will you find? Your warrior, your passion, your beauty, your magic.......... Dare to see the real you x

We are thoroughly enjoying supporting our southern team with this programme they are running with a school. Learning support assistants, parents and students coming together to grow, support each other and learn about themselves. A great message was given in the session yesterday about what are we modelling to the children? This may be something to ponder for your own life

We had such a special day yesterday as we welcomed the St Andrew's Roundhay, URC Youth Club to the farm. You may remember a few months ago the youth club held a Chinese themed night and served 80 people food in order to raise money for Autism Angels. Well, yesterday they came to the farm to present us with a cheque and spend the afternoon finding out about the work we do and how we support families. Blackjack and Rocky were the perfect hosts as they introduced the group to the work. We started out in two teams leading the ponies in the arena before adding in new obstacles and "upping the fish" with cones to twirl around and blue mats to walk over. As always the horses provided the group with learning about themselves and we saw nervous people flourish into confident horse people by the end of the afternoon. The grand finale was racing Blackjack in the arena, with our dad in the grey jumper winning with an amazing 4.3 seconds (its fair to say Blackjack needed a nap after that sprint!) We feel truly blessed after our day with these amazing parents and children. They came with such amazing energy and showed great kindness and support to everyone at the farm. We can't wait to have you guys back again, thank you so much for bringing us so much joy <3

A very special day down at the Southern Centre. It was great to get back down there and join the JCoss group who started 4 weeks ago. As they all jumped out of the mini, I could see what a great job our team was doing, creating a welcoming & safe environment for everyone. Today we looked at team work and micro teams within a bigger team. We encountered some adversity along the way, with big trucks, cars, running cows and pheasants, but the team was so tight and sure of their roles that nothing phased them. We heard some great communication skills, following instructions, saw some creativity and problem solving too. A real pleasure to see everyone and how far you all have come on. Absolutely fabulous work everyone.
