Join us on Easter Sunday for a social walk around the Quarry Park. Our head trainer, Laura Vaughan-Evans, will be there to give advice and to answer any training questions. This is a free event. We are meeting on the Quarry side of Porthill Bridge (opposite The Boathouse pub) at midday. Apologies if you were told 12.30. Jenny (Bertie’s owner) and I, have been meeting potential new owners today. Things are looking promising so far. I will let you know when there is more to report 😊 Urgent Appeal for Bertie Please help you can rehome a gorgeous little Cairn terrier. Bertie requires an experienced owner, as he has some behavioural issues. Unfortunately his current owner cannot cope and has had to make a heart-breaking decision. The owner has tried to rehome through a rescue organisation, but has been told he will be impossible to rehome* so the only other option is to have him euthanised. His current owner has delayed the vets appointment to allow me some time to find him a home. Bertie has been coming to my agility classes for a few months. He is very good. Good enough to compete, for sure. He is good with other dogs, as long as he has space to move around, and currently lives happily with another dog. Bertie is a sensitive soul and is being treated with a natural remedy to help with his anxiety. He barks when he is anxious. He also has an obsession with the post box and will shred any post that comes through. This is something we have just started working on and he is showing signs of improvement. He is food and toy-motivated. Bertie is an all-round sweet-heart, but he does have issues! If I didn't have cats and small children, I would keep him in a heartbeat. Please share and help to save Bertie *Bertie has a bite history. At 18 months old he bit the Sky engineer when the man approached him against the advice of his owner. There were no injuries and no action was taken. More recently, he bit his owner when she removed the newspaper from the door. He was going for the paper but caught her hand instead.
