A local, Shrewsbury artisan baker specialising in handcrafted, French & continental breads and pastries delivered straight from my oven to your door. Inspired by my travels, the love of honest, home-baked bread and the joy of traditional baking techniques. I use authentic French flours, butter and ingredients, combined with locally-sourced produce, to lovingly create a variety of traditional pastries, as well as classic French and world breads.
Beautifully packaged and hand delivered locally, on a vintage bicycle in the Copthorne, Radbrook, Bowbrook, Kingsland, Belle Vue, Meole and Frankwell areas of Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

facebook.comHappy Easter folks and move over Greek Tsoureki. This year my lovely subscribers enjoyed Pääsiäisleipä... This brioche-style Easter Bread, with a dash of rye, is traditional to Finland. Made to celebrate the end of 'Silent Week' and the strictures of Lent, it is delicately flavoured with cardamom and citrus. The plump raisins and chunky chopped almonds give added interest and texture. Please don't ask me how to pronounce it... Anyone out there from Finland???

This week my lovely subscribers got a taste of Ireland in honour of Saint Patricks Day ... Small but perfectly formed, Irish 'Wheaten' Soda bread. A dense, slightly sweetened, wholemeal bread with pumpkin seeds. Unusually leavened with baking soda It needs buttermilk to activate the rising and uses plain, all-purpose flours, not bread flour to get best results. Fantastic with cheese, or as an accompaniment to salad, a hearty soup or casserole. It toasts well too, but fantastic just warmed with lashings of butter and honey! Wholesome, versatile, Yum! #IloveThursdays
