With clinics in Shoreham and Haywards Heath, The Scanning Room is a bespoke ultrasound service offering women a wide range of pregnancy scans from 7 weeks gestation. Fertility, gynaecological scans and screening tests. We aim to provide pregnant women and their families a high quality specialised service which allows them to see their baby at different times throughout the pregnancy. A bespoke service which promotes bonding and provides reassurance at the patient’s request which cannot be met by the NHS.
We have a number of different scan options for you from seeing your baby for the very first time from 7 weeks gestation (just to prove it really is there!), to finding out the gender or even seeing your baby yawn in 4D for the very first time whilst in the womb. The health of your baby is our primary concern and so we will routinely perform growth measurements on all scans from 14 weeks gestation.
Our specialised screening services include the Harmony test from 10 weeks, which is highly accurate in the risk detection for Down’s syndrome. We also offer Group B Strep screening from 35 weeks which incorporates a growth scan. Neither screening test is currently available on the NHS.
We also offer a well woman ultrasound service, our gynaecological and fertility scanning service can offer follicle tracking, examination of the uterus and ovaries and examining the endometrial thickness.
Our friendly, professional scanning team are all fully qualified sonographers working within the NHS, either registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) or the Health Professionals Council (HPC).

I have had the pleasure of being a midwife for over 10 years, specialising in ultrasound has given me the unique and enviable position to share the joy of your pregnancy with you.

We also offer a Fertility & Gynaecology service performed for women with a variety of gynaecological complaints including infertility and fertility treatment. A gynaecological scan can either be performed transabdominally (over the tummy) or transvaginally (internally) dependant on the reason for your scan. These scans are the most effective form of imaging to assess the uterus and ovaries. A referral is not required for any of the gynaecological services we offer. EARLY SCAN We like you to be at last 7 weeks pregnant for an early scan to be performed to ensure the fetal heart pulsations can be seen and everything is developing as it should be and all in the right place. Any earlier and the scan findings can be in an inconclusive status - which is not nice - as we need to see the baby's heart beating clearly to confirm viability. This image below was taken at 8 - 9 weeks If you have a particular clinical concern - such as ectopic pregnancy we can perform a scan from 5 weeks. http://ow.ly/dCqi50vBH31
