Are you looking for supervised or mentored hours for your ACPSEM pathway bronze or silver level? Or to demonstrate that you have mentoring/supervision experience for Gold level? The World Half Marathon Championships are in Cardiff on Sat 26th March. We are looking for volunteers for both the elite races and the mass participation event from Thurs 24th – Sat 26th March (Elite support cover starts from Tues 22ndMarch).This event will see the world’s best distance runners compete as well as 25,000 runners in the mass participation event. http://www.cardiff2016.co.uk Over the 3 days you will get opportunities to see large numbers of runners, working alongside colleagues with differing experience in sport. You will also get an opportunity to see the runners advice workshop material produced by staff at Cardiff University as part of a project investigating barriers and facilitators to running as exercise. You will be provided with a Cardiff World Half Marathon top and meals on the days you work. Cardiff University are sponsoring the event and providing physiotherapy support. The elite physiotherapy support is being led by Adam Rattenberry, Lead Performance Physiotherapist, Welsh Athletics. This call for volunteers is for qualified Physios only as a large number of Cardiff University students have already volunteered for our usual student provision. If you are interested in volunteering, please email us with the following information: · your experience in sport andspecifically with runners. You don’t have to be experienced but this information will help us place you in one of the various sites where we areproviding cover. · If you speak any other languages, that would also be useful to know – we are particularly looking for French, Spanish, Russian and Arabic · Your availability from Tues 22nd March through to Sat 26th March. Spring Study Day themes and speakers announced! St. George's Park, Burton-Upon-Trent on St. George's Day Saturday 23rd April 2016 This day will bring together sports medicine & science a experts with broad range of soft tissue techniques. Fill your knowledge gaps and go home with an even better Soft Tissue Toolkit. A morning of lectures will be followed by a panel Q&A, then practical demonstrations. A trade exhibition will run concurrently with companies such as Patterson Medical, Game Ready, BSN Medical, Physique, Dynamic Tape and MediUK attending. Open to all SEM practitioners with preferential rates (£110) for ACPSEM, BASEM, WFATT, BASES and OSCA members, and £165 for others during the early-bird period.
