We have been looking into the history behind our old cast iron fire backing in the restaurant and finally found out more detail!!!!!...... the date 1588 was in line with the spanish armarda, the fire back was a commemorative piece celebrating Raleighs Elizabethan Victory over the spanish fleet and was reclaimed from the french fleet shortly after this period..... more history to discover at the Haunch!!!!!!
