Roxby Heritage Weekend News/Update Following our recent committee meeting and changes to people and roles surrounding the weekend, we wish to update you on the future for Roxby Heritage Weekend and plans in motion for 2018 event. Firstly the event is scheduled as always, to follow the Duncombe Park Steam Fair and will be held on Saturday 14th July and Sunday 15th July 2018. The Roxby Steam fair has gone from success to success and as a committee it was agreed that the 2017 event and its attractions was considered the best one yet. Running over the 3 fields we believe short of a few tweaks here and there we are at a manageable capacity for a small event and hope to continue on that basis going forward. It is important to take this opportunity to thank both Steve Morley- Chair and Colin Bentley- Secretary for their efforts in starting the weekend and following its success to date, along with all those committee members and helpers that have been involved over the years. After holding the committee meeting following this year’s event, it was decided that in particular to ensure the smooth running of the event, along with the added pressure that all events are now facing to ensuring events conform to health and safety legislations that more people would be co-opted into set roles within the events committee and I would like to introduce the following: Colin Bentley- Treasurer, Advertising and Marketing roxbyheritageweekend@hotmail.co.uk 01947 841313 Wayne Merrills- Health and Safety Officer waynemerrills25@gmail.com 07572619081 Section Heads Maureen Jackson- Cars/Bikes/Vintage Vehicles 07974485366 Carl Wilson- Tractor Pulling, Tractors/Vintage Tractors carl270980@aol.com 07813333423 Alison Wilson- Trade Stands and Attractions apotter333@btinternet.com 07813333423 Alan Barker- Stationary Engines/Steam Engines adelallen@aol.com 07788988447 It is important that going forward all entries now go through the correct section heads as detailed above, and the correct entry forms are completed by anyone wishing to enter an exhibit, attraction, or hold a stall for the weekend. Entry passes and wrist bands will need to be displayed and worn to access the field. Please could you if you haven’t received an entry form, contact the relevant person as detailed above in order to receive one, these are available, both electronically and by post. Going forward all exhibits on the field over the 2 days, must have the correct paperwork completed, this is to help to continue the event as a success and be in keeping with health and safety guidelines. Please note we are unable to offer public camping over the weekend. Camping as in previous years will be available for, stall holders, attraction staff and those exhibiting. We would again like to thank all those who have been involved with the weekend both past and present and hope to see you all at 2018’s event. Alison Wilson Roxby Heritage Committee 2018

The car blow up today was a mere 30 seconds the prizewinner was very happy with her winnings of £220.00 she very kindly donated £120 of it back so at present the GNAA will receive at least £340.00 from the blow up alone.
