First day with the Hampshire Open Studios at venue 196 in Swanmore. In all seven Guild Members are exhibiting through to Monday. First day we had 72 visitors an increase for us over previous years.

The Wessex Guild of Craftsmen will be participating in the Hampshire Open Studios from the 23rd to 26th August. We are venue 196 in the HOS Directory where you will find full details of our location and opening times. We are just one of six studios in Swanmore so plenty to visit and see. In all there will be six Guild members offering a varied selection of hand crafted items and art. Participants are Sheila Barrow will have a display of her Textiles; Jo Berryman will have a selection of hand thrown Pottery for the home and garden. Bridget Bradshaw with her Silver Jewellery and Helen Murchie will have a display of items all incorporating genuine Harris Tweed. Finally we have Kevin Blackburn and Richard Stapley, Kevin is a Graphite Pencil Artist and Richard a Woodturner.

The Guild for many years have taken part in the Stansted Park Garden Show and this year we have decided to also do The Garden Show at Loseley Park, Guildford, both of which are organised by Jane and her team. The show runs for 3 days from the 26th to 28th July in the grounds of Loseley House near Guildford. Five of our members will be in the Studio Shop and Wessex Guild Marquee. Jo Berryman will have a selection of her Pottery suitable for the home and garden. Dorothy Borland of All Things Glass with a wide selection of Fused Glass. Penmaker Ron Caddy aka Acorn Crafts, with an array of Pens hand turned using various wood and acrylics as well as some made from historic salvaged or reclaimed wood. LaymarCrafts Woodturning will have a display of functional and decorative woodturning by Richard Stapley. The final member of the Guild is Carolyn Wallis with a selection of hand Woven Silk Scarves.

Just 10 days togo before Members of the Wessex Guild are at The Garden Show at Stansted Park, Hampshire. Seven of our members are taking part and can be found in our own marquee located between the two large marquees.

Seven members of the Guild will be at The Garden Show at Stansted Park, Hampshire from the 7th to 9th June. Located in our own little marquee situated between the the two large Arts and Crafts marquees. The seven are:- DorothyBorland of All Things Glass will have a selection of Fused and Slumped Glass. Ron Caddy aka Acorn Crafts with a display of Turned Pens from various species of Wood and Composite materials. Thea Hamlin with her range of Twinkling Hearts Jewellery. Helen Murchie aka Tweed Indeed with a range of items all produced using genuine Harris Tweed' LaymarCrafts Woodturning by Richard Stapley will have a selection of Functional and Decorative Woodturner items using a wide selection of different wood. Ella Tutton of Ella's Garden Studio with a selection of Pictures using Screen Printing Techniques as well as Photographic Images. Susan Ware is a Hand Painted Porcelain and miniature Picture Artist and will have a varied display of her work on show.
