We offer ballet, tap, musical theatre, jazz, street, contemporary, flexibility,cheer, adult classes and private tuition for ages 2 upwards!
KTZ Dance School was first born in 2007. It all began when I was choreographing some routines for the local amateur dramatics youth group – Buddies. Quite a few students approached me about maybe doing dance lessons outside of the theatre group. We started off with a few students on a Friday evening before rehearsals began and this grew to a few more and eventually we had over 40 students rehearsing every Friday in a local church hall in Clayton Le Moors. From this we began to develop and branch out trying new styles bringing in Ballet & Musical Theatre on a Wednesday evening. These proved popular and as students developed their confidence and abilities we introduced Street dance onto the timetable.  Today we have over 6 different styles of dance running throughout the week as well as private lessons for 1to1 tuition.

Over the first year we just did our lessons week in and week out but I wanted to bring something into the school for the parents to see what talent their children have.  We started rehearsing for our first summer showcase. This one showcase developed into 2 a year that then developed into an annual awards ceremony where students can be awarded trophies, medals and certificates for their personal and group achievements throughout the dance year.  KTZ now regularly performs at the local theatre. It is at the theatre where we were spotted by a local company who perform regularly to raise money and awareness for various charities. We were honoured to be asked to take part in their showcases so now we have further opportunities performing in big theatre venues outside of the local area.

Since September 2012 KTZ Dance have had their very own studio. It is equipped with 2 fully functioning dance studios. Up to date sound and lighting systems are now in place.  Both Senior and Junior students have their own changing rooms and refreshments are available from our bar area throughout the week.
