Celebrate 2017 ending and 2018 starting here at the Steel club. We have a fantastic evening of entertainment lined up for you. Doors open at 7pm, we have the usual 2 bingo flyers at 8.30pm followed by a 45 minute set from Duo 'x-act' Then we will have a all in all out flyer, then a book of 4 followed by the snowball flyer (standing at a whopping £1,500 on 51 numbers, wouldnt it be brilliant to end the year with that as a win?) then the final flyer along with the beer raffle, new years raffle and key to the box. AND there is more? be one of the two £50 winners on our 2 mini totes! 'X-act' then set you up for some disco dance tunes (from the menacing ladz) before we countdown to new year! Well, even with a good event plan we didn't expect the kinda numbers that attended tonight. Our first priority has always been safety on our fireworks nights. And due to our plans we had to close the gates and redirect people onto the overflow area of the football pitch. We didn't charge for those people in this area. And we delayed the start of the display until the queue had gone and we felt we could cope safely. Thank you for being so understanding. A huge sorry to those people who queued, especially those with kids and couldn't get on the front of the club. Hopefully you got a good view and your kids and yourselves still enjoyed the evenings display. Hopefully no one was too disappointed Our display is funded by the fantastic Ladies of Steel, a group of charitable purpose who have a small number of volunteers. They were brilliant, stewarding, running a tombola and a raffle. They were assisted tonight by some friends of the club (A lady from friends of westfield farm), and local members Kev Slater and Steve Sullivan. Also our amazing security who worked the main gate. We would like to thank them for their efforts without them we would struggle to do what we do. Thank you to the sizzling griddle who came straight from the Boro match and for Sean Brown Leisure who provided the small kids rides. Only a few hours now till the gates are opened for the Family friendly fireworks evening sponsored by the fantastic ladies of Steel. There is a free carpark (please dont park on our road and block access for emergency services.) And please be aware of local residents if parking in local side streets. The gate on the main road (south avenue) will be un locked at 6pm. The display starts at 7pm. Wrap up warm.

COMPETITION TIME! We're giving away entrance for a family of 4 to Sundays fantastic Fireworks display. Its simple and easy to enter, you need to do THREE things.
