Prospect Park Railway - Reading Society of Model Engineers
Description
The Reading Society of Model Engineers established 100 years ago. Based at Prospect Park, 'Public Running' days are on the first Sunday of every month. We have a Young Engineers club and we cover a limited number of birthday parties (pre-booked) The Reading Society of Model Engineers was established 100 years ago with the purpose of allowing individuals, who enjoy building and operating models of engines and machinery, to share their combined interest. Since then the club has moved from strength to strength and has now been based at our present home in Prospect park for over 40 years.
The society encompasses a large number of interests, being equally involved in the construction and operation of model railways as well as the construction of live steam locomotives, clocks, IC engines and all manner of other scale equipment
We have 'Public Running' days on the first Sunday of each month together with some Bank Holidays. Trains will be on track for rides at the times shown in the Future Events box. (may be varied in adverse weather conditions).
Birthday parties are really popular and get booked well in advance. See section on Birthday Parties for information, availability and reservation arrangements for that very special day
