#meetthemaker Day 4: Tools. There are soooo many more than anyone would believe! But if i pick my top 3 its: 1: my easel bench (I've pinched it from my husband!)- I can prop larger pieces up to work or paint, use it as a workbench or seat, 2: my surform- makes rounding edges and flattening backs for mounting a lot easier than sandpaper!, 3: my dental tools- to get into the nooks and crannies and perfect the surface of a cast! #lifecasting #poulton #lancashirelife #sculptured #3dcasting #meettheartist #bodydouble #keepsakes #create #creator

#meetthemaker Day 3: workspace. Organised chaos at the moment with a few jobs on the go. At one and of my studio I have a nice high desk so I can work sitting or standing. I can also see down the driveway to welcome clients! I also have 3 huge windows making it nice and light. I get a wonderful view of the garden and even in Autumn there are still some flowers!

#Meetthemaker Day 2: Favourite make. Without a doubt I love lifecasting faces! It's the key to so many memories! Clients know and love every pore, wrinkle, mole and line on the face i cast. For some it is the most wonderfully detailed, 3dimensional reminder of their loved one, who gives a comforting sense of always being there. For others it is a celebration of love or life at that moment. I am lucky though- i love everything I am asked to make. Picking one wasn't easy! #Meetthemaker Day 1: Me. I love art, every kind of art. My nanna was an artist, mum an artist and sister into textile design. How I ended up in academic research, lecturing then teaching is a mystery! I specialised in human anatomy whilst doing year after year of pottery and ceramics at night school. My children came along and i needed a change so we moved to Poulton-le-Fylde and i set up the Lifecast Studio. What can I say.... I love it, it combines my love for the human form with creating. From celebrating pregnancy, birth, friendship, family and love to cherishing life at the end and memorial memories.
