facebook.comExplorers will not be meeting tonight as only one member intended to attend. This is due to many members being from outwith Portsoy and unable to get through due to the wonderfully snowy weather. It will be business as usual again next week.
Pick up The Banffshire Journal this week to read a great article on our group, what our our explorers have been up to and the importance of volunteers to the success and continuation of our group. Thank you to everyone who supported us through the Co-op Local Community Fund. We raised a total of £1512.93 which is a massive boost to our group and allows us to continue offering our participants a well rounded scouting experience.

Our Scout and Explorer sections start again tonight after the summer break. We meet at the Scout Hall by Loch Soy in Portsoy from 19:00 - 21:00. New members always welcome. We are in search of new adult volunteers as well for all sections. If you want to help or know of anyone who may be interested don't hesitate to get in contact.

We look forward to seeing many familiar faces in Portsoy over the weekend for the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival. Members of the group will be helping steward the car park, doing shuttle runs in the minibus and at the scout hall we will be serving, teas, coffees, refreshments and homebakes. Make sure you swing in by to say hi! If any of you feel inclined to offer a hand, either at the hall or carparking, please get in contact. All support will be greatly appreciated. Enjoy the weekend.

Our Scouts and Explorers spent this evening down at the Portsoy Links doing a beach clean up followed by a sausage sizzle. Fine to have a clean beach again.
Thanks to all who attended the Daffodil Tea coffee morning, the group has been able to purchase some new equipment including some fine tents. Here's one of them getting a test run on Skye yesterday.
Some our Explorers travelled to Blair Atholl with Falkirk Explorers and Scouts at the weekend for a joint canyoning trip. Despite the chilly water temperatures, they said they'd love to do it again and some over came some fears of jumping from height.
