Local community theatre with large stage, bar and restaurant. The Circle Arts Centre is a brand new Theatre Bar venue and hidden gem in Portslade. On Friday 24th March we'll be raising funds for Comic Relief with an evening of fun and dance tutorials from Lee Miller. Guests are invited to come along and join in with jive, salsa or as a spectator while making new friends and discovering this amazing new event space.
The venue will be hosting an extensive timetable of events all throughout the year and is also available for private hire. With a space of over 3,000 square feet, a large stage area, the highest quality sound and lighting equipment, fantastic looking bar and the best in house catering team, we have everything under one roof to make your event spectacular!

A vintage-style fundraising party in aid of the Movember Foundation, introducing the charity motorcycle ride the Ride of the Ruperts. *** Calling all Ruperts, Rupettes and everyone in between! Have you heard the buzz? Don your gladrags and head on over to a real hidden gem of a venue, The Circle Arts Centre, Portslade, as we’re throwing one of the jolliest vintage parties this side of Hove! Featuring live music from a glittering array of the finest gypsy jazz and swing musicians in the South East, a drop-in Lindy Hop class and demonstration, and the opportunity to win fabulous prizes, the Revelry of the Ruperts promises to be a knees-up to remember. * VINTAGE PHOTO BOOTH: Pose in your vintage finery as top Brighton-based photographer ANDREW ROACH will be on hand to capture your best side. * LIVE MUSIC: Enjoy toe-tappin’ gypsy jazz and spectacular swing from some of the best musicians in the South East. Featuring violinist MIKE PIGGOTT (Bert Jansch, Pentangle, Denny Laine Band, “One of the best swing jazz fiddle players anywhere” – New York Jazz Times), drummer DARREN BECKETT (Brandon Flowers, Madeleine Peyroux), ANDY PANAYI (Shirley Bassey, Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello) and many more stars from Brighton’s thriving music scene. * LINDY HOP DROP-IN CLASS AND DEMONSTRATION: Take part or be entertained from the sidelines as Brighton Lindyhoppers walk you through this fun, high energy form of dance. It’s easy when you know how! Limited capacity, bring flat shoes, and layers as you will warm up. * RAFFLE: Your chance to win high-end prizes courtesy of our generous supporters – watch this space as we’ll be announcing prizes soon. * REFRESHMENTS: Take a pitstop at our fully-stocked licensed bar, and as part of the ticket price, you’ll get a meal included from The Mobile Pizzeria, who do more than just pizza!
