So today is the day that we celebrate our 6th year!! My little baby is 6 years old. Been an up And down kind of ride over the years and lost a few but have a wonderful class now that’s finally settled!! Been times where I thought I’d have to shut the club due to poor numbers after being told that it would never work down port talbot but due to wonderful support over the years and great support from friends the club has made it and continues to grow stronger!! Made a tough decision when I left the iko after 26 years but can already see by the support given and the signs of camoradarie that i made the right decision in joining the ikku and look forward to becoming a bigger part of it in the future!! Have to say a massive thank you to everyone that’s supported me and the club over the years and to those who still do especially my good friend Senseí dave and Sen martial arts who continue to support us!! Thanks to all the people who help me with the class ( Tom and izzy) and to then parents who continue to pay for the kids to attend training!! We’ve come a long way in 6 years but still boast an incredible grading success rate with only 1 failure in 6 years and two British champions in rachel and Isabelle which is an achievement in itself so well done girls for going the extra mile and representing yourselves and the club so well and to anyone who’s represented the club at tournaments thank you!! For anyone who wants to be a part of this special little club then feel free to get in touch and join us as there’s never a better time to start and hopefully we still around in another 6 years!!! Adapt, improvise, overcome!! Osu!! Senpai Jarrad
Love this!! Am a big believer that martial arts is t just about being able to be hard or for your friends to think that you’ll beat everyone up in a fight!!! It’s all about working with others, becoming social, getting fit, being better than you were and making he most of working in groups!! I’ve trained 26 years now and I’m a better person for taking my Kyokushin journey! Have an amazing class in which two kids (izzy and Rachel) have bettered themselves by becoming British champions and Izzy being a bonafide instructor already at such a young age and it makes me Proud to instruct at such a great club with great students!!
