Billy started training with us in 2014, and before he even understood what we were all about, seen the potential of our team and played a major part in bringing Jake MacKenzie over from Rio to train with us.✈️ Since then he has been training with us, recently furthering his skills by practising Judo and also helping by sponsoring individual students on their BJJ journey. Despite being one of our oldest members he is also one of our most active competitors and his immovable mount has taken home many medals🏅🏅 Well done Billy! 👏🏽

For us, one of the BIG reasons is that it has proven to be the most effective way to defend yourself. This is why we are so passionate about getting children involved! 😊😊 The grading system in BJJ provides a realistic and rewarding climb to the next level. It gives everyone the drive and passion to improve without focussing on “the belt.” By getting rid of the traditional martial arts approach to grading, we focus on personal progression with no formal exams or kata to complete. Finally getting round to uploading some pics from our team mates who were graded. 🙌🏽🙌🏽 Jamie has trained with us since he was just a young pup, his progression from white belt ➡️➡️➡️ now has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of. While studying for his degree he continued to pursue BJJ training and competing whenever possible. Last year, travelling to Brazil to train at GFTeam HQ and in August of this year visiting GFTeam Berlin. He has became so adept at deep half- in the gym and in competition - we have changed the name to deep Gaff. On and off the mats he is such a friendly, chilled out, laid back character he’s the kind of guy you’d let date your sister. With a shiny new BJJ purple belt to go along with his black belt in selfie taking everyone’s swiping right 😉
