BARN CIRCUITS - £5 per class
Our original class 45minutes of circuits. This class is always different and working on a mix of strength and cardio exercises. The classes are tailored for all abilities so come along and have a go. Technique is very important to us and you can be sure you will be looked after during the sessions and we will make sure your doing everything correctly!
BARN BLAST - £5 per class
With summer approaching and weight loss being high on the agenda for most of us this session is what you need. We all assume running or cardio is best for weight loss but this is not the case, when we do cardio we use a very small amount of muscle which is basically like having a dying fire with just embers burning, once we stop the fire goes right out. Barn blast is a mix of strength and cardio to really get you burning through fat, we start with 30minutes of strength exercises in a circuit routine similar to the circuits class we run - this is lighting a big fire as we will look to activate and recruit as much muscle as possible. Once we have got this fire burning we will be heading out for a 30minute run. This session will boost metabolism and keep burning through calories long after your finished.
LEARN 2 RUN @ THE BARN - £60 for 6 week course (1 weekly session).
Running should be the most natural of movements but modern life has effected the way we move and our natural posture. Learn 2 Run is designed to look at each individual and get you back to a healthy and natural posture and strengthen the body to a point where running can be fun and injury free. Learn 2 Run is for all abilities and designed to bring back the fun the running.
MINI ME CIRCUITS - £5 for adult and the £2.50 per child (3rd child and above come free)
A class for you and your children! We have been amazed at the energy and enthusiasm children at the barn have shown for the classes and now we are bringing them their very own session. This is designed for parent and child together so come along and work out with your children and see if you can keep up! Pre booking required

facebook.comFantastic Friday goes to Elijah 😊. This was Elijah’s first session back with me after having both legs in cast for 5 weeks (which were only removed Monday). In that time we have had some severe muscle wastage through lack of use. Elijah worked really hard with me indoors for 30 minuets before we decided to give the bike a go. I think I am right in saying previously Elijah has only ever used a hand bike and I do believe it is the first time I have seen his dad Arron speechless as he didn’t know he could peddle a bike 😊. From the video you can see how hard Elijah is working and how determined he is to make the bike go (with a little help from his hand). Think we have some new goals set, laps of the car park using just his legs 😊. Well done Elijah and it was great to have you back.
Great first session at Mini Me. I am really impressed with all the children. But special mention this week has to go to Harrison who managed Spider-Man push ups the whole way under the plank bridge being held by the parents 👏🏻👏🏻😊. Also congratulations to the density crew and Charlotte - I forgot we had started 15 minuets early so their session was a full on hour this week 😬😊.
Not long till we will be diving into the mini me class 😊. A fun family class starting tonight at 6pm
Tomorrow night at 6pm see’s the return of mini me. This is a class designed for children but the adults join in 😊. The class has shorter intervals to keep the child interested and focused on the activity. It’s a mix of being in and out of the Barn (weather permitting). We look to work on core, balance and hand eye coordination skills.
Busy night at our booty session ,some hard legs and core workouts but they were all on fire 🔥and smashed it ! They were rewarded with some nice stretches to loosen of the burn . Well done everyone hope those legs won’t be too sore tomorrow 💪🏻😉#nothinglikeagoodlegandbootyday🍑
Monday madness 😊 Great start to the week ahead. Reminder Mini Me starts this Thursday at 6pm. A session designed for children but the adults join in. More information in the week on this class. Next class is at 6pm tonight.
Tri Northumberland you have been a pleasure. We wish you all the best for this coming race season and look forward to seeing you all at some races. Jo, Woody and Kobi 😊
Thank you so much Jenni and Kacy for the bike, you just made Lily’s night tonight. It was a great way to finish her session with a little leg workout 😊.
****** NEW TIMETABLE ****** Summer timetable please note some time changes and new classes. On the timetable we have highlighted Adult only classes, classes were Juniors are welcome (12 plus) and family classes, were participants can be younger than 12. Next week back by popular demand we have Mini me return. This family class is aimed from 5 years up. The class is fast moving to keep the child’s attention, but will have a strong emphasis in core work and balance. This class will be £6 for the adult and £3 for the child and there must be one adult taking part with the child or children. Finally a reminder that tonight we have our new class Barn Burner starting @ 6.45pm. Any questions regarding the new timetable please feel free to message me. Cheers Jo
**** NEW CLASS **** STARTING MONDAY 16th The class has a strong emphasis on using the resistance bands throughout the session. It’s a perfect way to really activate the glutes with a combination of kettlebell work and some high intensity cardio work.
Special session for the lovely Laura tonight. Hope you all enjoyed the mini blowout in it? I think Graeme particularly enjoyed it 😂😂. Laura, we are all thinking of you for tomorrow. Xxx
SUPER SUNDAY Has to go to Craig Bryson. I have been training Craig now for a few years and last year I took him canoeing (which was completely out of his comfort zone). It was here I challenged him to this years challenge to do a paddle board from a high kneeling position. How hard will this be for Craig? The answer is extremely hard due to Craig’s cerebral palsy. Craig needs to be able to hold the high kneel position whilst also holding a paddle and pulling it through the water. The paddle board he is going to be kneeling on will obviously be unstable and if all this put together isn’t enough of a challenge. We have the added difficulty of getting Craig on the board. But maybe one of the biggest challenges will be how the cold water will effect Craig as he has told me it has the tendency to tighten his muscles up even more! So how is training going? Happy to say great 😊. We have been working really hard in the high kneeling position - with various activities taking place in this position eg med ball throwing now with 6k, rotational throws , overhead press. I have been thinking up new ways to challenge Craig’s core and I have to say the latest one is definitely a fun one and a great one you could adapt to play with kids. The game is simple just don’t let me push you over. The idea is to keep your arms parallel to your legs. Craig in the video is having to hold is own legs up as this alone is a challenge in itself. All you need to do is place a foam roller between your legs and hold your arms straight up (you can link your hands at the top. To increase difficulty you could hold a weight). Curl up, tuck your chin into your chest and brace your core. Finally don’t let yourself get pushed over, it’s harder than you think. Will keep you updated on Craig’s challenge but if anyone happens to have an old paddle we could borrow for a few months I would be truly grateful. Have a great Sunday Jo

Great start to the day with @lizziedinningfowler & @fowler4744. They have been #weightlifting now for 7 weeks and the #improvements have been enormous on #strength and #flexability. Paul began with very limited range of movement and struggled with the new movement patterns. Very pleased he stuck with it especially as he is feeling the benefits. #gettingstronger at #christmas
#fitness #christmaschallenge rules are easy. It's a list of #exercises this year we started with 12 reps #12 days of #christmas) after each exercise an item of clothing must go on. When you get to the end of the list all items put on come off and you begin again this time it's 11 reps.....and so on. #laughter #fun #training #seasonal #competition is to see who can get through the furthest in the allocated time 🎅😁.
