Perkins Bar & Bistro
Description
Perkins Bar & Bistro offers the dishes we have fallen in love with over the last four decades – all to be enjoyed in a relaxed and informal space – modern and classic seasonal dishes that commit to quality ingredients. October 14th 1982
Perkins Bar Bistro first opened with Tony Perkins in the kitchen and Wendy Perkins running the front of house. Having moved up from London and putting all of their savings into this derelict railway station- they simply had to make it work!
Fortunately Tony's bistro style food using fresh local ingredients coupled with Wendy's front of house warmth proved very popular with locals and beyond.
At this time the Perkins family of Tony, Wendy and their two sons Jonathan and David lived above the restaurant in the Station Masters flat.
Summer 2002
20 years after Wendy and Tony opened the bistro, sons Jonathan and David took over the reigns. David ending up running the kitchen and Jonathan running the Front of House.
Summer 2005
Perkins very own smokehouse is built (with the help of Tony Perkins!)
September 2007
Sarah Newham, formerly a trainee chef under Tony Perkins rejoins the business to head up the kitchen.
November 2008
The Carriage Hall- a wedding and events venue opens!
Having completely refurbished and extended the former station goods shed adjacent to the bistro, Jon and David take their first steps in expanding the business.
October 2010
escabeche tapas bar & restaurant opens in the heart of West Bridgford. Having spent many years and months dreaming of opening a tapas restaurant, they finally get the opportunity.
May 2015
baresca tapas bar & restaurant opens in Nottingham city centre.
July 2016
Perkins Bar & Bistro refurbished.
February 2017
Accommodation is added in the form of 3 hand made luxury. Shepherd huts.
