The National Trust for Scotland - Pitmedden Garden and Museum of Farming Life: Walled Garden, Shop and Tearoom, Events, Art & Sculpture Exhibitions Enjoy the spectacle of the Great Garden, with up to 40,000 plants bursting with colour in the summer months The centre piece of this property is the Great Garden, originally laid out in 1675 by Sir Alexander Seton, 1st Baronet of Pitmedden.
In the 1950s the elaborate floral designs were re-created under the guidance of the late Dr James Richardson; three of the formal parterres were taken from designs used in the gardens at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh in 1647. The fourth parterre is a heraldic design based on Sir Alexanders coat-of-arms.

Why not also visit our Museum of Farming Life, Herb Garden, Shop and Tearoom
Also not to be missed is a visit to our Woodland Estate with walks which start from the Nature Hut. Look out for Lady Marys pond, Wildlife Garden, Old Lime Kiln and Quarry Pond and of course the wide range of Wildlife that lives on the Estate
