Want to generate additional income for your town/city? Not all the value on gift cards are redeemed - ever wonder what happens to the money that’s left over? So after 12 months (and we have all done it!), I find a gift card in my wallet that has expired and I throw it away with a shrug of my shoulders - after all, it wasn’t my money in the first place. I have had plenty of time to spend the gift - it’s just one of those things. http://www.mi-cnx.com/news/want-to-generate-additional-income-for-your-towncity143

We are delighted to have been working with Kevan and Belinda at Cheltenham BID over the last week to help to deliver the new Cheltenham Gift Card programme. The Miconex team had a great couple of days in Cheltenham last week visiting the business to register them to be able to accept the new Visa-based gift card. As it’s free for the businesses to join the programme and there are no additional costs - it’s easy to get them involved. We continue to work with the team in Cheltenham as they put the finishing touches to the marketing materials prior to launching in a couple of weeks time - watch this space! http://www.mi-cnx.com/news/cheltenham-gift-card-programme142

We are in the process of delivering our 5th and 6th gift card programmes in the UK for Cheltenham BID and in Glasgow for a consortium of agencies. With another 6 programmes due to launch over the summer we thought it might be useful to pull together a list of frequently asked questions and answers.

We got in touch with the ever-busy Linda as she was enjoying a well-deserved break (sorry Linda Hill!) We wanted to find out exactly how much she knew about the Perth Gift Card as well as setting her a pleasant wee task! How would she like to experience the best that Perth’s indie businesses have to offer courtesy of The Perth Gift Card?

Many thanks to the Institute for Retail Studies at University of Stirling University, project partners Perth and Kinross Council, Stirling Council and funding partner The Data Lab for their input into this innovative local loyalty research. This follows on from our Innovate UK funded loyalty feasibility study. A significant new local loyalty prototype is being planned based on the experience gained in the previous project and using the output of this research and we look forward to sharing with interested parties in due course.
