A C Richards and Son, Independent Family, Funeral Directors of Perranporth, Newquay and Indian Queens A.C. Richards and Son was established as an Independent Funeral Director in 1972 by Archie Richards, with Chapels of Rest in Newquay and Perranporth, also covering Indian Queens. In recent years Archie has taken more of a back seat and is proud to have his grandson, Andrew, a third generation of the family, now running the business. Andrew started working for the business at the age of 15 and at age 21 he was one of the youngest Funeral Directors in Cornwall, learning his trade from the ground up, from his father and grandfather, drawing from their years of experience. Since then, Andrew has continued to grow the business by combining his traditional values with a modern outlook to change and progress with a new generation.
In addition, we have a female Funeral Director on the team. Tara started working for A.C. Richards and Son in 2012 and is now a valued member of the firm as we feel that a female approach can offer additional sensitivity in certain situations.
A.C. Richards and Son are the official Funeral Directors for the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust and this is a role that Tara is fulfilling. Tara ensures that a professional and sensitive service is provided at all times, dealing with bereaved families from all over Cornwall.
As members of the Society of Allied Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF) we adhere to a strict code of practice, copies of which are available on request for your peace of mind.

When someone passes away it generally comes as a great shock and the first few days following the death of a loved one are both busy and confusing for friends and family alike. Kilker Selina On Sunday 10th December 2017, peacefully at Newquay Hospital, after many illnesses bravely borne, Selina Mary aged 83 years, of Quintrell Downs. Beloved wife of John, dearly loved mother of Mary, Frances, Kathleen, Christine, Sean and Georgina, mother in law to Charlie, Will, Jim (deceased), Clive, Vilma and Graham. Daughter of Frank and Georgina Yates (deceased). Shirley Barbara On Wednesday 22nd November 2017, Barbara Ann Shirley, aged 72 years, passed away peacefully at her home in Newquay. Much loved mum of Ian & Jenny and adored nan to Grace, Elysia, Mitchell, Charlie and Maddie.
