Paraplegic Three Lakes Challenge Andy Sutton is a 57 year old paraplegic kayaker with a progressing spinal cord tumour. He is planning to complete British Canoeing’s Three Lakes Challenge before becoming unable to paddle. He is aiming to be the fastest/first disabled person to complete this, including a World Record Attempt. The event is planned for June 16-17th 2018 He plans to achieve one last goal before becoming unable to paddle, as well as to raise funds for a new MRI machine at Queens medical Centre in Nottingham where he is treated. Andy and British Canoeing are raising funds to make a film about the attempt. The motivation being to raise awareness of disability paddling, to inspire spinal cord injured people to try something like kayaking as a means of improving their well being and also to highlight the role of para-canoeing in his overall training regime.
