Cloud dominated tonight but the Moon did shine through. We did have a rather beautiful Moon Halo for most of the night - will post some pics soon. Thanks to our 33 visitors for coming along tonight. Only two weeks of the season left to go!

We can see the Moon through the cloud but not much else!

It's a bit cloudy out there, but the cloud is thin enough for the Moon to shine through at the moment. We will have the telescope in the Dome pointed at the Moon for as long as we can see it through the clouds! Open from 6:30pm til 9pm (last entry 8:45pm), admission free and no need to book.

BBC Weather - Paisley

Partly cloudy skies followed by light cloud forecast for tonight, which either means we will or will not get to use the telescopes! The Moon is heading towards full so if the cloud is thin enough the Moon should shine through. I will post an update around 6pm with a better idea of sky conditions nearer opening time. Open from 6:30pm to 9pm (last entry 8:45pm), admission free and no need to book. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2640677

Thanks to Clare Forrest, Fiona Gordon and Kate Livingston for a very informative talk at Paisley Museum this afternoon, helping to mark International Women's Day by talking about their publication 'The Mighty Women of Science Alphabet Book'. The book outlines many of the unsung heroines of science and shows the fantastic contribution they have made to our understanding of the world (and universe!) around us.

Another disappointingly wet and cloudy night. Thanks to our 37 visitors for coming along this evening. The long term forecast for Thursday night is more promising, so let's hope that at least is correct and we can get to see something through the telescopes!

Thanks to everyone who made it along to Clyde Muirshiel tonight - frustrating weather-wise but the Moon did pop out through the clouds for long enough to grab a quick view down the telescope - attached photo was taken at the end of the night. Stargazing sessions will resume in October - more info nearer the time.
