We do not risk homing dogs with children under 5 years. Capricorn Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, registered charity 1048511, has been taking in animals and birds for the past 45 years.  We take in around 3,500 animals each year and have over 50 varieties of animals and birds at the Sanctuary.  Capricorn is run by a dedicated team of volunteers.  We get no government grants, we rely on donations and fund raising to raise the £250,000 needed to keep the Sanctuary running each year.  We are open to visitors from 1 o'clock until 4 p.m. every day but are on call 24 hours a day for emergencies.

The Charity Commission has opened a statutory inquiry into Capricorn Animal Rescue and Sanctuary *After receiving a number of complaints from the public as well as significant media and parliamentary interest about the charity in 2016, the Commission initially provided regulatory advice and guidance to the trustees on how to improve the charity’s governance. The Commission monitored the charity’s compliance with this guidance and visited the charity in October 2016 and subsequently inspected the charity’s books and records. Our engagement established that there were clear and on-going serious regulatory issues relating to the administration of the charity by the trustees. These included inadequate financial controls, failure to safeguard and properly account for the charity’s assets, potential unauthorised trustee benefit and the trustees’ failure to act on regulatory advice. The inquiry will examine: **the administration, governance and management of the charity **whether there has been any unauthorised benefit to the trustees of the charity **whether the trustees have properly exercised their duties and responsibilities under charity law in the administration of the charity and in particular their duty to account for the charity’s funds In order to protect the assets of the charity, the Commission has taken steps to freeze the charity’s bank accounts under section 76(3)(d) of the Charities Act 2011.

Further fabrications from Sheila Stewart posted in the Evening leader (Flintshire) and on their website (now removed from the website post) which states she said "People are showing their support, including Dog's Trust Wales." The below link confirms this is another fallacy created by Mrs Stewart. Please ask yourself if someone can be filmed by and undercover BBC reporter lying about animal care and the actions and reasons for an RSPCA visit and within the same week about support of other major animal welfare organisation, what more questions need to be asked about the ethics and conduct of this Trustee of a charity! What other things have you been told which are untrue?
