Tandridge Golf Club
Description
Created by Harry Colt in 1924, with brilliant design and spectacular views.
A new entry in Golf Monthly's UK&I Top 100 for 2017/18. Celebrated golf architect Harry Colt created the delightful course at Tandridge in 1924. There are spectacular views of the Surrey North Downs and the High Weald, with the front nine running along relatively gentle land and the back nine sited in more rolling and dramatic terrain. Strategically placed bunkers call for accuracy from the tee, plateau greens make for demanding approach shots and subtle borrows on the fine surfaces test your putting.
The course has been fully restored and updated by Frank Pont, a specialist in Colt's design principles. Golf Course Architecture journal described it as "perhaps the most dramatic restoration of a Golden Age golf course yet attempted in the UK". Since then, England Golf has staged the English Women's Open Amateur Strokeplay on the course and the feedback from visitors is consistently excellent. With the condition of the course matching the quality of the redesign, we are delighted to be ranked in Golf Monthly's Top 100 Courses for the UK & Ireland for 2017 and 2018.

Fantastic mention for Tandridge Golf Club among some other great Harry Colt Courses, and good appreciation of the par-3 13th; as challenging and enjoyable a par-3 as they come.

The scorecard at Tandridge Golf Club has developed over time, initially referring to the 'Bogey score'. 'Bogey' was the first stroke system and what golfers would compare themselves to when playing a hole up until the middle of the 20th Century when bogey began being used as the term for one over par.
