Butterflies class had a fabulous end to the half term - a Chinese dance workshop! Happy Chinese New Year - it's the year of the dog🐶
Chestnut class have had a fabulous few days really getting immersed into their Egyptians topic - following their assembly on Friday they spent the day taking part in activities and on Monday they had a wonderful trip to Haslemere Museum where they even mummified some toys!
Butterflies have been making some Terracotta Warriors as part of their 'Land of the Dragon' topic, these look fantastic!
Today we took part in activities related to Safer Internet Day at RKS in our classes, some using iPads, some using computers and some even using just good old fashioned writing! Tips about staying safe online and seeking help if needed are so vital for all of us to remember.
This afternoon we welcomed a team from Cardinal Newman school to play our Y6 team in a 10 round quiz. It was nail biting stuff, with some very tricky questions! After a very well fought battle the winners were.... RKS! The team now move on to the next round!
This morning Rev. Trickey came in talk to the children about the RKS Virtues, which we launched this term. The children were able to identify examples in a story and we also looked at the first version of our Virtues graphics.
Thank you to the Chestnut class, who shared a very informative assembly with the rest of the school and lots of family and friends this morning. They looked fantastic, and followed their assembly with an Egyptian day in class.
The handprints that children and parents created as part of Anti-Bullying week to remind us that we are 'All Different, All Equal' have now been put on display outside the hall, forming the rainbow-coloured leaves of a tree! Come and have a look the next time you are here.
Thank you very much to Mr Tobias for talking to the children this morning about his career (which has spanned a range of different jobs), particularly focusing on his work in music soundtracks - we found it interesting to watch the same film clip with different soundtracks!
