Our aim at the Missing Bean is to provide top notch, affordable coffee for regular people. The role will be to manage and oversee the smooth running of the roastery; making sure all wholesale customers are well looked after and get their coffee on time, managing the roaster and roastery assistants, as well as being in charge of the small ancillary cafe on site. The role will involve both barista and roasting duties. The position will be based at the Roastery, in East Oxford, line-managing the roasters & roastery assistants. Hours 40 hours 5 x days a week (including some Saturdays). Salary depending on experience. Responsibilities Roasting coffee --Barista duties Communicating with our Operations Manager & wholesale customers -Maintaining a close relationship between the roastery and the shop baristas -Training wholesale customers at the roastery or at their premises as well as new staff -Deliveries - organising coffee deliveries, checking in stock, checking out orders -Events, coordinating and attending or arranging staffing -In charge of quality control - regular cupping sessions -Health & Safety - following guidelines, making sure all on site do too -Brew recipes for all coffees -Stock control Person Specification *Essential* -Experienced Barista -Driving license -Personable & friendly -Self starter -Excellent communicator -Reliable, trustworthy & hardworking -Managerial experience -Organised *Desirable* -Roasting experience -Basic coffee machine maintenance knowledge -Experience of training people To apply please send a CV and covering letter to manager@themissingbean.co.uk.
