Heres a car from the past ...the raindance fuel altered of martin maxwell from the late 70s........martin is having a new fuel altered built using late hemi and vra spec ....21gall pump.points activated mag .....lenco ....bug catcher etc etc ............the sfi 10.1spec shows the drivers compartment and shows the k bars at the side of the seat ...bars 15 in inch and eigth by 58 thou ...which is what i built to begin with but after much deliberation with martin .....dont forget hes going to drive it ....we went to inch and quarter by 58 thou and then closed the bays with inch and eight ...this must afford better protection for the driver..and still retain some of the flexibility inherant in the 10.1chassis .........the more modern10.5 chassis are a lot stiffer ......but they cheat using 8000hp

This is simon mitchells methanol funny car ....went down the nut and bolt shop to buy a set of bolts that allowed us to put it together to have a look ....dummy block and line up bar shows it will all fit but needs a new motor plate....also front 25inch frontrunners need to be 23.which this chassis was built on to ..apart from that it looks fine to me .....in all the years of doing this ive never had three funny cars in at once .....

Big year at the pod this year ...get your doorslammer out as theres a lot of money up to win ......robs capri has a 305 sbc in it but a big small block over 400cubic inches is being built for it while it gets rear clipped and cage ..car uses a 315 radial tyre

Spent a day at paul marstons ...hes doing housework on grumpys dodge ..he fitted a new rad and support and detailed under the bonnet ....nice job paul ...for myself i carried on fitting up the old banger in the fourth picture .truth is ive had an etype since i was a kid when they were 300quid ...when this one goes thats it the end ...cant afford another one now

Ok so weve got to put this together for simon michell .whos going to race it as a blown alki funny car .......theres a chance of a later body but at the moment it will use the old hawaien punch body ..car will use .kbblock billet heads 14.71..carbon injector and three speed lenco .every single piece of the car is available to me .as the owner has spent a few years collecting ...we will start it next month .....the chassis is by hal canode in indiana ......his first funny was bought by a guy called ....murf mckinney......

Garth wongs 32 is on its way to the manifolders to mount the quad turbo system ..car runs a v6 ...powerglide box and syvex managment system .....chassis is moly and will tag at 25.1 so down to 6.0 is super lightweight .including carbon fibre rear wing and one pice fibreglass front ....strange suspension all round .......should run 6s and probably come in at under 2000lbs ......it has an ex john bradshaw engine it it but that is the spare with garth building a race engine to race with

Andy thetfords camaro ..one of them anyway ..coming along .car is in tag now so its just a matter of trying to get everything to fit .....like the body which is fibreglass and very flexible .steel floor under the driver ...thats the rules and the passenger side is normally removable ali so you can stand through the car to service the gearbox
