We all had a great time at the dinner last night, tinged with a little sadness as we say goodbye and thankyou to headteacher Mark Bedford and his family. Robert Kybird after many years service, stood down as Chairman of OTA and Jessie Shingfield is now our new chair. Brian Cooper has the badge for many, many years of service as treasurer and has now retired from post with conveniently another Brian, Brian Lawrence taking over the role. Here are just a few snaps, you may need your magnifying glasses lol, I saw lots of great photos being taken so don't be shy, get posting, sharing and tagging!

OTA – Then and Now Past pupil, Lucy Peacock, recently got in touch with the OTA to tell us that her poetry is being exhibited as part of the Hill Project UK in Buxton. The project, which includes Lucy’s poetry, tells the story of the farming families, industry, community and landscape around the Hill near Wirksworth, Derbyshire. Lucy recalls fond memories of her time at TGS (1986 to 1990) where her ‘creativity was nutured’ by her teachers, Mrs Waddington and Mrs King-Davis. Since leaving, Lucy has gone on to study Linguistics at the University of Sussex and now lives in Derbyshire with her three children whilst studying for a PhD in literary linguistics at the University of Nottingham. The exhibition is being held at Buxton Museum and Art Gallery until 6th June 2018. You can learn more at the project’s website: http://www.hillproject.uk/ We would love to hear more about the achievements of Old Thetfordians – please do message us and tell us about you!
