In the farm office this afternoon planning spring barley sowing rates for 2019. The blue map is satellite imagery showing the different soil across the field taken last night. The solid blocks will be the control areas sown at a standard rate. The pen and ink map from 1844 has an indication of soil variance too. They were amazing.
