facebook.com*****LUNGWORM WARNING***** Unfortunately we have had a positive lungworm fatality this weekend. Lungworm is one of the nastiest parasites and often referred to as the 'silent killer' due to the limited and late onset symptoms. Even in an early detected case treatment is very intensive and the prognosis is often very poor. Unfortunately not all wormers prevent lungowrm and the standard 3 months protocol for intestinal worms is insufficient also. To be fully protected your pet must receive an appropriate wormer every month. Your pet is at risk not only from other infected dogs but also the lungworm larvae are carried by snails and slugs so even an innocent slug trail can be lethal.
Little Buddy was in with us yesterday for neutering. Once he is all healed up he will be available for rehoming. We all fell in love with him 🐶❤️
***GRAPHIC CONTENT***** This picture is of a uterus of a dog suffering with a nasty womb infection called a pyometra. The womb has filled up with pus and has the potential to make your dog very ill or even prove fatal. This is one of the reasons we strongly recommend spaying female dogs. Not only is pyometra prevented by spaying but it also reduces your pets risk of breast cancer and ovarian cancer. As you can see the womb is much bigger then Clare's finger whereas it would usually only be a matter of millimetres thick.

What a difference a simple procedure can make to a dogs quality of life. This little pug was born with stenotic nares which makes it very difficult to get sufficient air into the lungs with each breath. A very simple operation and suddenly she can breath like a normal dog.
