Hunt for 132 painted Wildcat models hidden around Newtonmore in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park. Great for children and adults to share and enjoy. A treasure hunt with a difference! More than 130 life-size, painted, models of the Scottish Wildcat hide round the village of Newtonmore in the Cairngorms National Park. All the cats are painted in different colours and have characters such as Paws for Thought, Cat-a-ract, White Hot Cat on a Tin Roof. They are tucked away in people's gardens, behind hedges, on roofs. There's even one who goes 'surfing' in the summer.... What YOU have to do is see how many you can track down. Certificates and small prizes are awarded. Children love it - and adults have been known to become addicted.... Your Wildcat Experience Trackpack will bring you hours and hours of fun. Come and join the wildcat hunt!

The Wildcat Experience TrackPack : Showerproof shoulder bag with fully illustrated brochure showing all the cats, a map to mark them on - and a souvenir pen, all for £7 or £12 for two sets. (All money goes to upkeep of the village Wildcat Trail and Wildcat Experience.) Buy it at The Wildcat Centre, Main Street, Newtonmore, PH30 1DD - next to the village hall. Another day of school holidays and Mum Trudy brought her sons Aidan and Jake to the Wildcat Centre to ask about the Wildcat Experience - and pretty much everything else the boys could think to ask questions about! Trudy took the opportunity to show her sons how she looked at the turn of the century, as she has her photo in the Millennium Book of Newtonmore.
