Are you up for fun, adventure, and incredible experiences? Then welcome to 1114 (Gosforth) Squadron; part of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets! Are you up for fun, adventure, incredible experiences and making new friends? Are you looking for something to give you the edge in life? Then welcome to the Air Cadet Organisation (ACO). Better known as the 'Air Cadets', 1114 (Gosforth) Squadron is part of a UK-wide cadet force with more than 40,000 members aged between 12 and 20 years.

We're sponsored by the Royal Air Force and can give you hands-on experience of activities and courses that will challenge and develop your skills to help you succeed in whatever you want to do.

Our aims are to:

Promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force among young people;
Provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life;
Foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.

And there's one more important thing - it's a lot of fun!

Today, cadets and staff from 1114 Squadron attended a church service at Jesmond Parish Church in celebration of ATC Sunday, to honour the founding of the Air Training Corps. During the service, 1114 Squadron Padre, Rev Jon Teasdale, delivered a sermon, in addition to Cadet Sergeant Teasdale giving a reading from the Bible. As well as the service, the Squadron banner was also paraded. Thank you to all the cadets who attended and for your smart appearance, which was praised by the regular attendees of the church! A massive congratulations to 1114 Squadron’s Corporal Adam Forster, who has completed his Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award! This is the first Gold DofE to be achieved by a cadet from 1114 for a number of years. A massive congratulations to four cadets from 1114 Squadron, who this past weekend participated in the Sector 3 Archery Competition! Their efforts brought them success, with the Squadron placing 3rd overall, with Cadet Padilla achieving the best shot in the Under 16 age category! OC 1114 SQUADRON SWAPS PARADE SHOES FOR TRAINERS Officer Commanding 1114 (Gosforth) Squadron of the Air Cadets swaps his parade shoes for trainers and completes the 2017 Great North Run. Flight Lieutenant Aaron O’Roarty RAF VR(T) (37yrs) ran the 13.1 mile course on Sunday 10th September 2017 in aid of the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA). He completed the race in a respectful 2hrs 36mins 42 Seconds. Flt Lt Aaron O’Roarty said “It was hard work and today every muscle is aching but the sence of achivement on crossing the line was amazing.
