facebook.comWith their final live electronic set at the SurfCafe, Tynemouth tonight, Denatures electronic sound can still be heard with their EP Loss on i tunes. Requiring key visuals that not only blended with the music, the band required a theme that 'cemented'(pun intended) a regional identity. Brutalist Architecture and North East England's significant role in it's international development in the 1960's was used to promote the track "Acceptance" and the cover for the bands EP loss.Cubesedge provided the Photography for the band. You can listen to the track Acceptance from the EP loss here: ▶ 4:52 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6xdqyYEhl4
Denature will be doing their last electronic set live tonight at the SurfCafe, Tynemouth. A distinctive sound which they will be continuing with for sync and radio, further live shows will be acoustic, again in their own inimitable style. Cubesedge provided promotional photography at dawn on the north east coast for the preview mix of the EP Loss, well worth a listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuSC_JUg7Tg
Following Denatures recent success in Ubeat Music Awards, winning best music video for their single Time, they want to keep the momentum going with their forthcoming EP Loss launched on 15th Feb. You can find more about the band and their unique sound in last nights Evening Chronicle and January's Narc Doorstep Interview. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/whats-on/music-nightlife-news/electronic-group-denature-set-release-10804511 http://narcmagazine.com/doorstep-interview-denature/ With North East England roots it was important to the band that the Photography not only captured something unique about the region but blended in with their music also. The regions international influence on modernist architecture may not be widely known, but two visionary Architects. Ryder & Yates started to put up several important modernist buildings and had plans to create a "Modernist Utopia" in the new town of Peterlee. Although the "Utopia" was never realised, a controversial piece of art & rare example of a large scale experiment in the Synthesis of art & architecture was built, The Apollo Pavilion. Victor Passmores 1969 celebration of the US Space program & moon landing provided us with the perfect backdrop for the Band and their music. With its Geometry & orientation, shadows are cast like a giant sun dial and it was important to make dawn and dusk trips on the day, the band needed little persuasion. Denature, Cubesedge & Sync Panther acknowledge the assistance of Durham County Council & the Apollo Pavilion Community Association in allowing the Pavilion to be used in the Photography & Design of this EP.
