How does your weekly drinking add up? The Count 14 campaign is about making us all aware of the UK Chief Medical Officers’ recommendation that sticking to a maximum of 14 units of alcohol per week, spread out over at least 3 days, can reduce the risk of developing health issues. That’s 6 glasses of wine (13% ABV), 7 double measures of spirits (40% ABV), or 6 pints of beer (4% ABV). To help you keep track of your weekly alcohol intake, the Scottish Government and NHS Scotland have launched the ‘Count14’ campaign. Just a wee reminder that the practice will be closed this coming Monday 6th of May for the May day bank holiday.

Shingles is a painful disease that affects 1 in 4 adults, and is most common in older adults. 1 in 5 people go on to have long-lasting pain which could last for months or even years.
