facebook.comMusic Event – “Live on the Square” Following the success of Live on the Square 2017, community volunteers supported by Mold Town Council will be holding for the 2nd year, a live music event on (Bank Holiday) Sunday 6th May, from 12.30pm – 9.30pm on the Daniel Owen Square, Mold. The day will feature five of the best local bands from Mold and the surrounding area; 50Hertz, Babylon Leaf, Sidewinder, Universal Exports, Kuider alongside a number of acoustic performers and food and drink/bar onsite. Last year’s event was a total sell out weeks before the day, so it is highly recommended you purchase your tickets in advance to guarantee entry on the day as you don’t want to miss out! Advance tickets are £7.00 and available from Bargain Booze (Mold), KMA Tool Hire (Broncoed Business Park), The Alehouse (Earl Rd), Mold Town Council (1st Floor Town Hall) or can be purchased from band members. Admission on the day will be £10.00 (but cannot be guaranteed and is dependent on pre tickets sales and the capacity on the square) The Square will be barriered for the event so preventing unauthorised access however a route will be maintained around the Square for pedestrians. Volunteers to help set up, take down and steward the event are needed, if you would like to volunteer, please get in touch supportofficer@moldtowncouncil.org.uk or call 01352 758532 to find out more. Music volume levels will be monitored throughout the event to ensure that they comply with the agreed Town Council’s noise monitoring policy; community events of this type in Mold are an important part of maintaining the vibrancy and vitality of the town and we hope you come along, support and enjoy the event. Mold Town Council is sadden to hear of the passing of Sir Ken Dodd and would like to express their deepest sympathies to his wife Anne and family. Sir Ken had become a friend of Mold’s over the last few years and we were honoured to welcome him into our town. Sir Ken was a true gentleman and comedy genius who performed two fundraising concerts for Mold Town Council; Mold Hospital X-Ray Appeal and Save a Life appeal, both of which sold out in days and was enjoyed by many. RIP the Master of Mirth Sir Ken Dodd Mae Cyngor Tref yr Wyddgrug yn drist o glywed am farwolaeth Syr Ken Dodd ac fe hoffai fynegi ei gydymdeimlad dyfnaf i’w wraig Anne a’r teulu. Roedd Syr Ken wedi dod yn gyfaill i’r Wyddgrug yn ystod yr ychydig flynyddoedd diwethaf ac anrhydedd oedd ei groesawu i’n tref. Roedd Syr Ken yn fonheddwr go iawn ac yn ddigrifwr o athrylith a berfformiodd mewn dau gyngerdd codi arian gan Gyngor Tref yr Wyddgrug sef Apêl Pelydr X Ysbyty’r Wyddgrug ac apêl Achub Fywyd, y ddau gyngerdd wedi’u gwerthu’n llwyr mewn dyddiau a’u mwynhau gan lawer. Huna mewn hedd Syr Ken Dodd Meistr Miri.
