Summer Junior Coaching Camps have now finished. Our fabulous coach Hannah Ralph took her last two hour session this morning in glorious August sunshine. These fun filled sessions with Hannah and PGA Assistant Professional Matt Watson have proved very popular. More are planned for the October half term.

Calling all junior members! We are hosting a Junior Club Championship on Sunday 29th October at 1pm. The event will be played as an 18-hole medal competition on the Championship course and is open to all junior members. We hosted our junior fun day yesterday which was run by Cowdray's PGA Assistant professional Matt Watson. 22 juniors took part in the 8 hole competition on our Championship course. The winner of the event was 10 year old Tomasz Prescott with with an impressive score of 40 followed by Johnny Green in second place and Kyle Norris who finished third. We'd like to thank Cowdray member Terry Adsett for lending a helping hand in being the starter for the event along with all the parents who came out to cheer the juniors on. And once again the catering team came up trumps with delicious food after play.

Richard Prescott, who works in Operations at the Club had his first hole in one here at Cowdray whilst playing in a staff game last week. His ace came on the third hole when he was playing with Bar Manager Chris and greenkeepers, Ben and Marcus. After the round the drinks were on Richard!

There's still time to sign up for a Junior Golf Event this Sunday, 20th August. Organised by Cowdray Coach Matt Watson the event starts at 2pm and is aimed at encouraging players who are 16 and under to take up the game. This non-competitive event will consist of eight holes on the Championship course. Entry costs £5 to include a finger buffet after play. Email golf@cowdray.co.uk to find out more or to register.

A great start for Lille-Beau Thorpe who is playing in the England Golf Under 14 Championship just down the road at Blackmoor. It’s two rounds then a cut, then a final round on Thursday. But what a start she has made. Everyone at Cowdray is cheering you on Lille-Beau.
