After receiving lots of messages regarding the glycolic skin peel, i thought it would be a good idea to post what is used, what is involved and the benefits of the treatment. The product used is the epiderma 5 range,it contains no parabens or harmful sensitising preservatives and has not been tested on animals. The product comes in 2 strengths 40% for a superficial peel, this involves glycolic natural acid (which originates from sugar cane) being painted onto the skin for a maximum of 5 minutes, its aim is to provide adequate exfoliation to the skin without causing damage to the skin barrier.It helps to improve fine lines, uneven skin tone and texture, pigmentation and photo damage. Acne patients are also a good candidate for this treatment but, they may require more treatments. Once monthly treatments are recommended for best results but it's clients discretion. This level of peel doesn't involve any recovery time and you won't experience any peeling. 70% for a medium peel( only to be administered by nurses, doctors or dentists ) a higher percentage of the same product is applied to the skin for a maximum of 5 minutes ,a treatment using this percentage of acid targets deeper layers of the skin. This treatment is used for deeper lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, acne and damaged skin. Clients may experience peeling after this treatment.
