My name is Andy Raines, I have been trading as A Raines Carpentry and Joinery in Market Drayton for 12 years. In 2003 I joined Michael Healey and Son Ltd as an apprentice joiner and enrolled at Reaseheath College, Nantwich on a 3 year Carpentry and Joinery course. The course consisted of 4 days of site based work and 1 day at college.
After 2 years I had gained an NVQ Level 2 qualification. At that point you can leave to go into full time employment or stay on for the third year. I stayed, and after the final year I left college full qualified with a NVQ Level 3 and a ACA (Advanced Construction Award), I also hold a valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
In 2007 I left Michael Healey and Son Ltd and started my own business.

These are more pictures of a new build we recently completed in Market Drayton. We secured the contract to do the complete works in this property. Starting with the first fix of stud partitions, door linings and the installation of the staircase. Returning after the plasterer to complete the second fix, consisting of - Kitchen and Utility Installation Skirting and Architrave Internal Doors Installation of engineered oak flooring in the hallway. It was great to work alongside other trades who all had the same aim in mind, which was to complete this property to the highest standard.

This is a kitchen we fitted in late November last year. We returned to the property today to finish a couple of things so I managed to grab a few shots now it’s all clean and tidy. This is a Howdens Joinery Cream Shaker Style with solid oak worktops. We’re really happy with how this one turned out.

Here is a staircase we returned to this week to complete. This staircase was designed and produced by StairBox.com and installed by us. It is constructed using engineered oak for the strings, newel posts, handrails and base rails and MDF for the treads and risers which will eventually be carpeted. We returned this week to install the 8mm glass balustrade which is embedded within the hand and base rails. Really happy with how it came out.

A few pictures from a job we completed this week. A bespoke built-in double wardrobe and shelving, making use of an awkward space. We used Oak Veneer MDF faced with a solid oak bead for the shelving and Oak Suffolk doors, which match the existing doors within the house. Now over to the painter to finish it off.
