Today the world of entertainment has lost a true legend Ken Dodd. I never worked with Ken, but I heard so many stories over the years about him. Jules went to see him at the Plaza in Stockport and she said her chuckle muscles hurt for days! Sadly we have lost the last of the truly great comedians. RIP Sir Ken Dodd from all your fans across the world.

Apparently a few fb friends said he mentioned me at the gig to his audience, I thought it was a joke, but apparently it was true!

On the bench today....Vintage Valco 1961 Supro 1616t amplifier belonging to Phil Turner. He saw one for sale in Nashville that he tried to buy but someone more local bought it. Very few over in the USA were ever exported. But he found one in Arizona. Negotiated a price with the owner who very kindly agreed to pack and ship it all the way here! I have to say that looking at the speaker it would have thought it was older. So far it's lead me a merry dance!

On the bench today....I looked at the repair sheet. Fender Twin, couldn't see it anywhere. I know I've been ill! Jules said it's there, where? I said. The tweed looking one! Very strange. It's been marketed as hand wired in the USA! What do you guys think?

Roland was so ill on Sunday night. He couldn't walk or stand, he wasn't making any sense and could barely talk, he thought he was dying! But he's back in his workshop and doing a repair! The last of the Mohicans, Mr Lumby.

Dear Roland's fb friends and customers. Roland has been taken ill today. I suspected it was his heart problem AF. I called the paramedics at tea time. His heart rate is ok but he is obviously ill and we don't know why yet. I will be getting the GP out to him in the morning and he will need an urgent referral to a cardiologist. Roland obviously won't be taking amps in tomorrow. I will try and contact the people I know who are coming down. Sorry if I miss anyone off his list. I will keep you posted. Regards Jules.

Just to prove I am still alive! I will be back working tomorrow I’m a lot better now. A guy came up to me in Wetherspoon and said, Hi Roland. I wasn’t sure who he was. He said I’m Danny Okeefe and I’m your fb friend. He’s also got a Mitrex amp. How cool is that!

I have finished restoring this little beauty. The Selmer Little Giant. It's getting ready to go back home next week. The owner even has the original Selmer dust cover! It's been a real pleasure.

On the bench today......Just putting the finishing touches to the Selmer Little Giant amplifier. I'm hoping the Amp will have a few more years in it yet, unlike me!

On the bench today.......A very rare vintage amp. Anyone know what amp it is I'm working on? I'm here having to strengthen the back plate of the amp as it's collapsed in places due to what it's made of.

Well I've finally finished the wood and metal work bench. I think you will agree it's been transformed, beyond recognition! I've painted it and added a few power points. Cup hooks on the back for tools and metal strip for screw drivers. I'm very pleased with my vice and pillar drill, I painted them and they look fab! Sadly I seem to have all the tools, but maybe the Show Stop boys will buy some!
