Riverbank Community Garden
Description
Riverbank Community Garden is a nonprofit community project based in Chorlton, Manchester. Find us behind the Co-op on Barlow Moor Road/Hardy Lane. We usually go to the Riverbank Community Garden every Sunday from 2pm.

Southway Housing Trust has donated a patch of wasteland to be transformed into a community garden. Last year we ran a series of ‘grow your own’ drop in sessions and workshops, growing and harvesting a variety of fruit and vegetables and enjoying workshops on keeping chickens, maintaining fruit trees, making scarecrows, healthy eating etc. Have a look at our photos.

There are few jobs to do or pop down for a cup of tea to see what needs doing this year :) everybody welcome!
Thanks to everyone who popped down yesterday. We have raised beds full of fresh soil and we had lots of help weeding the beds :) we still need to tidy up the container in prep for the year ahead and fix up the greenhouse because of the wind. Once the greenhouse is up we will be starting to seed some vegetables to plant out later!
Have a cup of tea, come and say hello! We will be having a chat about plans for Riverbank in 2018 and having a tidy up. New members very very welcome!
We will be quiet for the next few months and start planting in the greenhouse in January/February. If you are wanting to start now there is still a little bit you can plant right now and now is the time to do any heavy landscaping before Spring hits!
