FT Brooklyn 5 - Stokesley 7 This loss today hurt, a lot! Today's fixture was always going to prove a close one as history shows and going 0-2 down after 6 minutes left us with an uphill struggle from the word go. As the half progressed we pulled one back and it became a very tight game and the half looked set to finish 1-2. A freak 5 minutes just before halftime rocked the boat with Stokesley bagging two quick goals when as a team we lost focus and we got punished. The second half with the wind in our sails we went out full of fight to set the record straight. Sadly Stokesley again drew fast blood extending the lead to 1-5. Then we turned on the style, creating chance after chance with the ball just not finding the net enough but we did reduce the score line to 3-5. From this point Stokesley added a painful 6th. We went all out attack and pushed and pushed and managed to get the score back to 5-6 and in smelling blood we went for the win.. Four efforts put wide, two goal keeper save and one crash cross bar started to tell the story that again it was just not going to be our day and sure enough we got caught on the counter and they bagged the 7th just before FT to ensure we left we nothing. The fight from the team was unreal, never once did we stop believing or fighting right up to the end everyone gave everything and it was brilliant. Wednesday we work harder and fine tweak a little then we go again Sunday, Huntington away. Lady of the match - Ellie Gordon Goals - Chantelle mills - 3. Ellie Gordon - 2

FT Fishburn Park 0 - Brooklyn 12 The first three points of the season along with a boosted goal difference was secured today against an understaffed Fishburn. A lovely sunny day welcomed us on our trip to Whitby, to settle the grudge from the season previous. As the game got underway it appeared that it was going to be another day of frustration with good football being played but with the ball not finding the back of the net. As the frustration grew and a few shots from long range went wayward we finally found the end product with a well placed pass finding Aimee Machin followed by her shooting to bag the first. As the half progressed we continued to be frustrated by the under pressure defence of Fishburn who showed good resolve to our attacks. In the end Aimee Machin managed to grab a second and double the lead before Sam Read went on and add the 3rd. Chantelle Mills could have finished the first half with a double hat trick but her radar was slightly out and she found the Fishburn keeper in good form! Little did we know in the second half their wound be a very different out come! Half time came at 3.0 up, we regrouped and discussed being more patient and simply focussing on how we should be playing football, our way! The second half kicked off with instant reform, we played much better through not forcing the ball and rushing which lead within 5 minutes of the kick off to Aimee Machin bagging her hat trick taking the score to 4.0 after a lovely through ball from Sam Read. Soon after this Sam went on to scored her second from close range after s corner. Finally Chantelle Mills put right from the first half and bagged her first.. From this she went on to bag a further 4 goals ending the game with 5 in total. Chantelle showed her range of ability with goals from all over and all different types! Sadly during this flurry of goals Gemma Douthwait received a second yellow and was given her marching orders leaving us with 10 to continue the fight. This was a blow given how well Gemma had been performing on the left wing. Sam Read completed her hat trick before the end of the game and Ellie Gordon also chipped in with the goals after a lovely strike from out side of the box. FT came and we left with 3 points and 12 goals, Fishburn goalkeeper and some poor finishing prevented the game from easily slipping into a 20 something fixture but we are over the moon. Well done ladies... Wednesday, shooting practise!!!! Lady if the match went to Chantelle Mills.

FT Brooklyn 2 - Cleveland 4 Another loss for us, painful that we keeping playing so well and not taking anything from the game. Cleveland scored direct from the kick off after taking the ball down the right and shooting. They went on to add a second before we then responded to make it 1.2 with a 40yard screamer from Sam Read. Leading up to half time both teams scored again making the HT score 2.3 to the visitors. Aimee Machin notching the second for Brooklyn. The second half was all about the next goal, we went on to hitting the bar 3 times and squander many many chances one on one but the football gods where not with us and Cleveland when on to clinch the decisive goal and the game finishes 2.4. Positivity remains high in the camp after what was described by the players as '100% the most beautiful football we have ever played'. We regroup, we train harder and we go again next Sunday, Fishburn Park away. Lady of the match goes to Chantelle Mills. Well done to all the ladies for such an excellent display, keep the belief and the results will come.

FT Poppelton 6 - Brooklyn 0. Not the start we wanted to the season but we look fondly on this result taking forward lots of positives. After a solid first 15 minutes with both sides cancelling each other out Poppelton took the lead with a cross that sailed, untouched into the net. Before half time Poppelton added 2 more following a loose pass and then a lovely cross and headed goal. We regrouped at half time but started the second half with 10 players due to injury. Even with 10 players on the pitch we preformed well with some excellent moves and passing play but our shots could not quite find the back of the net. In the end, the extra player made the difference with Poppelton adding 3 more following another loose pass and then two free headers at the back post following good crosses. Poppelton take the points yet we take the belief in our potential for the rest of the season. Lady of the match - Tyler Kelly, GK. This was Tyler's first time in goal in a game, ever! In fact this was Tyler's first ever game of proper football! She has had one training session practising yet her bravery and commitment to snaffle every ball up in the box was commendable and that of someone who has natural goalkeeper instinct! A number of players could have picked up this award today, including Jenny Arnell or Jenny Seadman. Some wonderful performances. As a team we'd like to thanks those whom sent their good luck messages and those who came and supported us today, the support is much appreciated. We move on now and focus our energy into preparing for next week. Let's go Brooklyn.

Another preseason game finished off this afternoon. With it, a very strange result in the sence of how many positives, increased togetherness and clear direction that can be achieved from such a heavy loss, 13-1 being the full time result. Our thanks go to York RI for hosting us and credit to two of their clear standout players whom bagged nearly all of their goals. We tried every play in the book to neutralise them but only their manager taking them off could stem the flow of goals! Aimee Machin bagged the only goal for us today, with a fantastic goal following many passes through the park, Aimee Pickering delivered the final pass to find her in the box where she smashed home a late consolation. We leave York high with confidence and ease with knowledge of what we have to do next. Today a heavy loss, tomorrow a big step forward.

Our preseason continued today with a 1.1 draw. We played host to North Ferriby at Malton community sports centre. We had most of the possession in the first half following some excellent passing and movment, despite this North Ferriby took the lead towards the end of the first half. After regrouping at the half time interval we came out determined to improve. After more spells of good passing and possession Aimee Machin's pass found Sam Read who found the back of the net. With the scores level both teams went on to create more chances and the game could have gone either way but it finished honours even. The team is bonding, the style of football is coming and the future looks bright for Brooklyn Laides.
