I remember you often Tuan Guru Hj Jamalludin (Bapak) my teacher, father mentor and dear friend. I constantly hear your words on how to move, feel, expression of the art the piercing focus and intention. Silat Sendeng is a national treasure of Malaysia and Indonesia but you are Sendengs treasure. I am honoured to teach, develop and preserve the art in the responsibility you have given me. Al-Fatiha

******************* WE STAND UNITED AGAINST HATE ************************ The recent killing of an 85 year old priest and innocent people is a crime. I did not want this group page to get involved in any political statements. But what these animals are doing in the name of Islam has forced me to speak out publicly despite any repercussions. Extremism is a root of evil as is all forms of hate and are not tolerated by Islam Christianity Hinduism Buddhism and Humanity in general. We stand united against hate. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims and their families of hate and terrorism. We must speak out against this evil in all its forms. Do not be scared be brave stand united against all hate.

Light sword and heavy Sundang Lipas sword arrived today. Bapak Jamal our grandmaster posted them a week before he passed away. In our last phone conversation a day before he passed we discussed many things and laughed as we usually do. He said he was happy to have finally finished forging two blades and sent them that i would get was them soon. We discussed the finer points of the techniques and forms he taught me. I promise to train hard and train my students well as if he were standing over us with his sharp eye for detail.

** Our dear teacher Hj Jamaludin Shahadan has passed away** It is with a very sad and heavy heart that i have to inform all our Silat UK students and friends that Bapak Jamal passed away this morning from a stroke 4 am GMT at Temerloh Malaysia. He was a great Silat master amongst the old guard and first started teaching at the age of 14. He was one of the few English speaking masters who studied in Wolverhampton in 1972 for a teaching Diploma and went back to Malaysia to become a English teacher. He later worked for Norton as an Engineer line manager. Amongst his renowned combat Silat skills for which he was famed for being untouchable he was an excellent weapon-smith forging all manor of blades knives and armour. Silat was his passion and he was one of the top masters under the great grand master Hj Hamid. Bapak ( Father ) Jamal always called me son and adopted me as his son and taught me with openness and kindness. He was not only my Guru but my adopted father my mentor and my best friend. He was a loving father to his sons and family and his grandchildren. Despite the trips to Malaysia and living and learning with him for months on end since 2009 we spoke on the phone usually once or twice a week sometimes for hour discussing Silat and its development and the martial environment in Malaysia. Although he was proud of his Royal Bugis descent from Suliwiesi Indonesia he was raised in Malaysia and was a loving patriot of his country putting his life on the line as a soldier and at one time taught Silat cose quarter combat to the Malaysian Special Forces Bat21 Unit with Hj Hamid. May Allah Swt give him peace and tranquillity and bless him with a place in Paradise next to the Prophet Muhammad pbuhf whom when he spoke of he would smile and shed tears out of love, We ask all students and those who are friends to remember him with a moment of reflection and if possible to send Faitha to his soul. I will try my best to carry the knowledge and trust that he has put in me as a Guru and his sons and other close teachers he has taught. It is difficult to imagine the loss that his family are feeling now and our prayers our thoughts are with Bapak Jamal and his family may God grant them sabre ( patience ) in this difficult time. A truly great legend has passed on but his teachings will live on.

Staying with S.h.Michael Wow!! It was an honour to stay two days with S.h.Michael a Shiahatsu Master and Sufi.Teacher(zikr was great!). It was brilliant to get his input as to how the body can be healed and energised through the five elements exercise movements.Michael has taught many students in the UK, in healing who have gone on to be teachers themselves. His kindness advice and hospitality was really touching.

Seni Silat Sendeng Hj Hamid Kuntao Malaqa Sendeng Haji Hamid (HH) is a combination fusion of Kuntao Malaqa and Sendeng origin Sulewiesi. Great Grandmaster HH carried two master lineages of both arts respectively. He spent his whole as a master of both styles fusing the two together through bridging drills and combat fusion forms. The core 5 Kuntao punching drills 5 core Sendeng punching drills 5 fusion variations with numerous empty hand bladed weapon forms, breathing forms as well as other drill form bridge methods makes this art one of the great Silat treasures of Malaysia.
