facebook.comMany of you know me for my bathrooms, and the care and attention that goes into the process. I have recently decided after a bespoke build project of my own to start designing and building bespoke Sheds/garden rooms, workshops, what ever you wish to do with them. I have looked into the market and have realised that most companies builds start at around £10,000 for a simple single skin shed, and large expensive concrete base. I believe I can offer a great quality timber framed building to your requirements for a lot less than the starting price of others. I build out of reclaimed and new materials, and can offer a variety of interior and exterior finishes. To Tailor made to your requests, with plumbing, electrics if required. I have a fantastic graffiti artist to commission one off pieces, to enhance/ personalise your room. If you or anyone you know, may be interested in this service, I am offering some start up prices to build a portfolio. This set of pictures are of my 30m2 build with decking of 10m2. If you require more information or would like to discuss the possibility of owning something a bit different then please message me.
Big IS beautiful! I created this room, a few weeks back. Based in Hoddesdon on a fairly new estate, the original bathroom was already dated, and as usual a very poor design and wasted space. Stripped back to bare bones, boxing removed and reduced. This plan was for a large functional wet room, for a busy family. Floor completely tanked using Impey tray former and membrane. Walls treated with waterproof finish before tiling. 30 x 60 porcelain tiles fitted. With envelope cut for tray former. Simple glass screen with deflection panel ceramic wall tiles to complement. Easy use and spacious area with ceiling Rose and separate handset. Finished with stylish basin and unit, back to wall pan.
It’s all white mate. Completed a couple of weeks ago, for a young couple in Royston, Herts. A redundant airing cupboard was removed to gain extra length to the room, allowing a bath to be fitted. Original set up with large shower at window end, was impractical and badly designed. This fresh looking room, with mix of modern and classic fixtures, is now a bright, welcoming space.
I love all the rooms that are undertaken, but. Sometimes you design, and build something that really matters to the client. My clients brief was not unusual in its functionality, but a design that incorporated a useful bath and separate shower and all the luxuries of a modern bathroom. Trying to fit it all in a 4m/2 room and making it accessible, that was the tricky part. Here are some before and after pics. Thanks to my friends at Bathroom ID, for assistance finding products to fit the scheme. The 1500 baths design allows deep bathing but won't feel like you are in a kitchen sink. Plenty of light from the window, and discrete bathing. 900 x 760 shower enclosure, repositioning toilet allowed better access and comfortable area. Nice size basin and unit. Duel fuel towel rail, and underfloor heating. Simple tiling scheme to increase light and space, with statement corner design in shower corner. LED lighting for comfort. Controls for underfloor heating located conveniently on the remodelled stair head, due to the new bath location. And no boxing, all pipe work below floor. They love it. ! So do I !
Well hasn't been ages. I have not posted any bathroom projects for a while, due to being a bit busy. Here are a few of the lovely rooms, I have been tackling over the last few months.
It's been a while since posting newly finished projects, due to switching phones I lost some pictures, so apologies if your room is absent. This room was completed in May and was a bit of a challenge. The remit was to remove bath and redesign room for a shower. The room was not the biggest to work with and had a vaulted ceiling and stair header to add to the fit. After removing the old bathroom, I discovered that the soil stack had been cut at floor level under the bath, this was not regulation. Re routing under the floor and into the box work at the rear of the shower wall, exiting through the ceiling and fitted with air admittance valve, now regulation. Altering all the waste services with the new soil under floor was made simpler, and allowed the new position of the WC, and now with a back to wall pan, pipe work is hidden out of place. The old ceiling was removed to allow insulation to be placed in voids, the house being built will very poor insulation, so now the room should be more efficient and cosy. 760 x 800 shower tray and minimal enclosure keeps the feeling of openness without overly compromising the floor space. Fitted with an Aqualisa digital shower system, for simplicity. Turning the attention to the area for the units and basin, with the stair header protruding nearly 400mm Into the. The new units had to be cut and remodelled on site, it took quite a bit of work, very happy with the finish, and even managed to keep most of the storage space, illuminated mirror cabinet fitted above. Walls and floor finished in a porcelain cream stone tile , complemented by a mosaic glass feature in the shower area and bespoke alcove in shower wall. New lighting and fan installed, this room is ready to go. A huge improvement and another room given the Bathroom bliss treatment.
Metro Central The brief was to create a stylish and bright ensuite for a busy young couple. The original space was dark and unwelcoming, with a shower tray fitted so high, and a boxed in beam made it difficult for use by the 6 foot 4, man of the house. After removing the old enclosure, it was apparent that as usual the original builders didn't utilise the space they had, and wasted the opportunity to create the best of the space. Reducing the boxing behind shower, I was able to gain a few extra inches, and adapting the pipework for the waste, the tray could be positioned almost 6 inches lower. I extended the boxing across to create a better way of hiding the waste removal and feeds for plumbing, and creating a convenient shelf for storage and room dressing. Removing the wall covering on the basin wall also allowed me to run the services within and thus creating a cleaner space for the application of the wall hung unit and basin. First fix done, it was time to tile, with only two walls being tiled it gave the clients choice of applying there choice of colour to the two remaining walls. A bevel edged metro tile was installed in a traditional half bond. Now giving a bright reflective surface to enhance the new LED Lighting. Grouted in dark grey contrast, to accentuate the lines. The floor was finished in a porcelain wood copy, with matching grout. The original shower tray and and enclosure was increased to a larger 1000 x 800 unit, with more elbow room, with a minimalist modern style, to give the room more open feel. Inset shower system and adjustable rail. A practical sized wall hung basin and unit, added storage and function with a modern look, complemented with a stylish new WC pan and cistern to finish the rooms functionality. A chrome towel rail was added to give the room the warmth it needed. This is now a room that the owners will be able to enjoy and make their busy life, just a little easier.
Once again in my hurry to provide another beautiful room, I forgot to take the before photos. So you will have to use your imagination, on the pre remodel state. A tricky little room to tackle, as this add on was built on the end of a Victorian cottage, to allow an upstairs bathroom. And had a few issues with levels and alike. After stripping the dated fittings etc, I was left with a few problems. The floor needed levelling, the walls needed straightening and the ceiling needed structuring. As you can see from the installation pictures. But after some careful repairs, the structure was much better, and surfaces ready for tiling. As you can see the room is not the biggest, but again with careful planning and design, I think the best was achieved with the overall layout. The clients choice of tile , gave the room a stylish finish. It was tight to get everything in and keep good flow with the space, but I think it's just right. The floor has been over laid with ply and levelled, a heat Matt installed to provide secondary heating along with a new larger towel rail, to achieve the well needed BTUs to keep the room toasty. To assist with nighttime use for small users, I added a PIR sensor to switch one light on, over the toilet, which is timed for ease of use. Now it's time to enjoy the room for many years to come.
It's not just Black and White. It's a real shame that I forgot to take before photos. This room was so damp and the floor had 3 layers of coverings trapping the wet. A small radiator was ill equipped to deal with the problem, and it needed rescuing. After removing all the problems from the room, and the double tiling, it took a couple of days to dry out. Unfortunately due to the location of the room being a small extension on the ground floor, it was prone to the cold and condensation from the use of the room and poor ventilation and heating. A large towel rail coped with most of the Heat the room needed, but with the addition of an underfloor heating system, it now would cope with the cold, and a new humidity fan, would remove as much damp air as possible, keeping the room in good condition. The layout was pretty much as the room allowed, the rear window wall was fully studded out, to hide the boiler pipes that entered the room from a exterior boiler cupboard, this also allows a snug fit for the bath, and the inset wall control for bath and shower. A back to wall pan and concealed cistern made the toilet area clean and allows the position to be best effective. With a wall hung basin unit filling the window area, the room was now at its potential and finished off with a 50 -50 split black white tile plan, with all mitred edges, to avoid using trim. The vintage style floor brings it all together. Fresh plastered ceiling and lighting, give the room a bright clean finish and now is an oasis, and not a swamp. This was a challenging start to the year, but I am pleased to have given the customer a room to enjoy and be proud of.
Room on top. Transformation of old cylinder cupboard and cloakroom for loft room. Quite a small space to convert, but none the less a great addition to a loft conversion. The old cloakroom was updated to match the downstairs main bathroom, just converted. A new 800 x 800 shower enclosure installed on adjacent space which used to house boiler, with low level tray for ease of access. With a new dividing wall housing the plumbing for shower and hidden cistern for WC, and some adjustments to the waste facilities, this is now a great addition to the house. Don't be fooled by the simplicity of the design, a great deal of thought and work went into this project to make it look this way. With new air extraction, lighting and heating this will now be a well used space, comfortable and practical for any user. This ends the year for Bathroom bliss interiors, so thank you all who have given me the opportunity to do what I do. See you all in 2017 after a well earned break. Don't forget to pop back and take a look at the next transformations.
Give me just a little more time. After a long slog, this room has come along way. I posted the before pics a couple of weeks ago. Now with a restructured floor and base, and an extra couple of feet borrowed from the hallway, the room has all the facilities you will need. A slightly longer project than normal with quite a few issues to deal with, but the transformation is now complete. By removing the existing entrance and wall, moving it a couple of feet into the hall, space was made to install a new 1600 bath, with a curved profile end, this allows a better flow, with the relocation of the toilet. The new position of the basin and unit makes the best use of the space and proves even in a narrow room you can achieve a feeling of space. Chrome towel rail placed conveniently for use from shower and bath. Moving the toilet pan to its new location was paramount to the design, as this allowed for a large shower area to be installed in a wasted space at the end of the room. The rest of the brief was simple. New lighting, extraction and secreted shaver point in basin unit. Ceramic wall tiles in a stone copy, with slate grey porcelain floor tiles to contrast and feature panel in shower are complemented by matching grout colours, which does not overstate the room, but keeps it neutral and practical. I mitred the tiles on the entrance to the shower, as it gave a more structured look, which I think it achieved. This is now ready for many years of use, simple to look after and a pleasure to be in. Now let's see what I can do with the room upstairs. Check back soon for updates.
Good morning bathroom lovers. Just a quick example of what happens when corners are cut installing bathrooms. Original joists and floors have been hacked to pieces, leaving poor stability and strength. This is now a rescue project. New joists and floor will be a necessity. Watch this space for transformation.
