Another rare treat! After the Beautiful Edison Standard I recently had the pleasure of servicing, another early Phonograph came out of 'hiding'. A beautiful Columbia Graphophone, commonly nicknamed the 'Macdonald'.

It's an overwelming feeling when you rebuild something as special as this... The first test really is so daunting and so exciting all at the same time! A replacement reproducer, a mild Service, some TLC and a quest to find an appropriate cylinder and she works beautifully! 🎶 ☺ 🎶

The shop will never look the same again! A farewell to the 'Amplion Stereo-matic' going to a great home in London where it will be appreciated dearly... Fully serviced and health checked before collection... Amazing peice of kit and an even better piece of history ☺ 🎶

50's and 60's record players and radios are a common thing in the shop but to have the chance to restore an American made PILOT pre-amplifier has been an absolute pleasure... Fully 'put back to standard' after some modifications were made over the last decade, all of the electrolytic capacitors replaced, some other smaller components sorted and to finish the job, a replacement lid/case top adapted to fit... It's ready to go home... An amazing piece of kit!
