On 16th & 17th September, an art exhibition, of artwork by up-and-coming local young artists, will be on display in the beautiful barn at Achnabreck Farmhouse, just outside Lochgilphead (PA318SG). The exhibition, called ‘into the light’ will be host to a variety of art, ranging from sculpture and painting to video and music. Much of the works on show will be available for purchase. This will be one of the first times that young artists in Argyll have been given the opportunity to showcase their creative talent. Running alongside the exhibition there will also be an ‘art lucky dip’, where members of the public can purchase a mystery piece of artwork for just £5. Small artworks have been generously donated for the ‘art lucky dip’ by many established artists, as well as by the young artists exhibiting. The exhibition has been organised by Beth Qualter Buncall & Holly Smith, two young advanced higher art students at Lochgilphead High School. The project has received encouragement & support from Lochgilphead High School, Achnabreck Farmhouse, generous artists, The Archway and MAYDS. The exhibition is open to the public on Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th September between 10am and 5pm. Entry is free. At Achnabreck Farmhouse, PA318SG.
